Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe the site in plain language and refine it by chat. You never touch files, a terminal or a server. When you unlock, you receive clean files you can hand to any host.
What exactly do I get when I unlock?
A ZIP with the complete static site: semantic HTML, hand-written CSS, light JavaScript, optimized images and a README with step-by-step deploy instructions for Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, GitHub Pages or any host. No lock-in and no build step.
Why can't I see the code during the preview?
The preview is a rendered site, like visiting a URL. Files are released at unlock or with a paid plan. That is how we keep the free tier sustainable, and it keeps the workspace simple for non-developers.
What are credits?
Each AI action costs credits: a full new site costs more than a copy tweak. You see a cost estimate before expensive actions, and credits are never charged for a failed run.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. The export includes instructions for connecting a domain on the most common hosts. The files are static, so hosting is typically free.
What happens to my images?
Photos come from sources with commercial-use licenses. We download and optimize them into your export so your site never depends on a third party, and we list the credits in a license file.
Which languages are supported?
Describe your site in any language and the copy is written in it. The Kiln interface is English for now, with more languages planned.
